For over two decades prior to joining The Dr. Spock Company, Dr. Lynn Cates has specialized in pediatric infectious diseases and childhood immunizations. She is the Past-President of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, has served on Institute of Medicine committees, and was listed in Best Doctors in America. From 1997 through 1999, she went on leave from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine to work on health policy in Washington, D.C. There she was a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow and she served as a Senior Medical Advisor in the Department of Health and Human Services. In February 2000, she was elected to the Steering Group of the eHealth Ethics Initiative, which created and launched the eHealth Code of Ethics in May 2000. She also serves on the Think Tank for KidsHealth 2020 in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Cates is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
