George H. McCracken, Jr., M.D.

Dr. McCracken is Professor of Pediatrics, and the Sarah M. and Charles E. Seay Chair in Pediatric Infectious Diseases, at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and Children's Medical Center in Dallas. He is recognized as one of the foremost experts in children's infectious diseases and antibiotics in the world. Dr. McCracken has been awarded numerous prestigious honors throughout his distinguished career, and he serves in elected and advisory positions in many professional organizations. He has published several hundred peer-reviewed articles and chapters, and has trained many of the current leaders in pediatric infectious diseases in countries throughout the world. Dr. McCracken has been Chief Editor of the The Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal since founding it in 1982. Dr. McCracken is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and is board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
