Bad Dreams
QUESTION
Dear Dr. Needlman,
My 6-1/2-year-old-daughter (a first-grader) is afraid to sleep alone in her room since she began having bad dreams about monsters and goblins. No amount of persuasion and talking are helping her. Looking for helpful hints to make her sleep in her own room.

Dear Ken,
This is a very common problem, and one that usually can be solved without too much difficulty. Dr. Spock has a very good section in Baby and Child Care on fear of the dark. You can read our updated version on our website.
