Vegetarian diet in pregnancy
QUESTION
I'm a vegetarian, and need to know how to adjust my diet while I am pregnant, especially with respect to protein.

Depending on what type of vegetarian you are (ovo-lacto vs. vegan), it determines how easily you can adjust your protein intake. Ovo-lacto vegetarians do not usually have any difficulty increasing their protein with eggs and milk products in order to meet the protein needs during pregnancy. Vegan vegetarians need to pay special attention to protein intake during pregnancy, and should discuss their diet in depth with their practitioner.
