Ask Dr. Jana

Researching Working vs. Stay-At-Home Moms
QUESTION
Dear Dr. Jana,
I am looking for information about studies done on working moms vs. at home moms. Any articles, websites, or books would be helpful. This is for a paper I'm doing in school.

Dear Laureen,
A good starting point would be to check out a book by Ellen Galinsky - the cofounder and president of the non-profit center called the Families and Work Institute. The book is called Ask The Children: What America's Children Really Think About Working Parents. In addition to offering a look at the views children have about their working mothers as compared to those who stay at home, the book also provides a wealth of more general information and statistics regarding work and family life.
