Cramping While Pregnant
QUESTION
Dear Dr. Greenfield,
I'm four weeks pregnant (can pinpoint the conception date) and have felt crampy off and on over the past 10 days, similar to when I'm about to get my period. I've had no spotting--should I be concerned?

Dear Liz,
While many people worry when they have cramping early in pregnancy, mild cramping that is not accompanied by bleeding is not associated with problems. So take your folate or prenatal vitamin, and enjoy your pregnancy!

If you have bleeding along with the cramping, or if you are still concerned, you should seek advice from your obstetrician or other healthcare provider.
