SUBJECT: Son won't talk... only grunts and yells.... 2 1/2 yrs old
My son is 2 1/2 and won't talk except to say "bob", mama and dada... bob for Spongebob... The doctor won't test him for disabilities in learning till he's 3 but I really don't think he has a problem... He will do anything you ask him to do and can distinguish between his cup and his brothers cup... He shares, he loves to play around and learn new things he just won't talk... It's frustrating for me because I don't want him to have problems later but he communicates in his own way by showing me what he wants or bringing it to me... and if you ask him what you think he wants he squeals when you guess right... He has his own way of letting me know exactly what he wants... Am I doing something wrong??? I pronounce words to him and show him pics of words like "dog" "cat" things like that but nothing is working... he recently acquired a new "word" for his vocabulary... His word for outside "owwa".... when you tell him to go outside and play he repeats it till you go so i know he can understand he just cant ennunciate? If anyone else has had this problem and knows how I can fix it pls let me know... Thanks
