You just made me very scared for when my son is 3 years old. He just turned 2 and still takes daily naps most days. When he doesn't get his 2 hour nap, he gets cranky and very sleepy. My concern is when his naps will end. I figure they will end when we get him his toddler bed. He still sleeps in his crib, but we are getting ready to get a bigger bed for him because he is getting bigger and able to climb out of there as well as his playpen. The only thing I wonder about is how I'm going to get him to sleep in a regular bed. He has never slept in a regular bed except maybe when he was a newborn and we only did that once for a couple hours. I think part of the reason I'm wondering how I'm going to be able to transition him is because we may have screwed him up somewhat by taking him to our bed and throwing him on it and jumping up and down. he seemed to really enjoy so we have just continued doing it since he was really small, but I'm concerned that maybe we were teaching him to play in a big bed, but not sleep.
