I would definately call your doctor, if you haven't done so already! Depending on where the pain is it could be a number of things from a UTI to gall stones or signs of a miscarriage (though I don't want to scare you!) It could be nothing at all, but it's better to be safe than sorry!

You didn't mention what week you were in, but you could expect to see the baby's head and arms and legs, though the technician will probably have to show you what they are. The technician will measure the baby's spine, head, etc. You may or may not be able to determine the sex, depending on how the baby is curled up. Let us know how things go!
