AUTHOR: Mommy2My 2Boys | | | Wow - this sounds exactly like my 2 1/2 daughter, except she doesn't give up, or give in. The whole "PLEASE MAMA" thing just cracks me up...she thinks that if she yells it loud and often enough - I'll change my mind. She is my first child and I know I have a lot to learn - but this whole "testing" phase was way more than I could have ever imagined. The only thing that has seemed to work for me - and it seems so obvious - is that just not paying any attention to her when she's acting up. I make sure she can't hurt herself (or me) and sit quietly while she throws her fit. It may take a while - but she calms down as soon as she understands that she's not getting the attention that she's looking for. I call her my little "Cybil" after the movie about multiple personalities. It's amazing how quickly they can change their mood while leaving us in a bad mood for hours or even days afterward.
I'm so glad that I found this forum to be able to discuss the problems I have wit my daughter with other parents who are experiencing the same things.
