 | Some boys get frustrated by all of the structure in preschool--waiting in line, sitting still, being quiet. They want to be active. They want to move. So they get frustrated and they act out. Maybe he is not ready for preschool. Have you tried a home daycare with a small ratio and children his age. And then homeschooling for the preschool part of it?
Also, you mention this is just in the past month. Is he having a conflict or clashing with a teacher? Have you asked him? Sometimes you need to probe, or ask the same question at different times, different days. Is there a new teacher, a new schedule, a new discipline method at school? Is there a new baby at home?
All the things you mention are forms of punishment. Have you tried giving him lots and lots of attention for awhile? Including him as your helper when you are doing chores? Have you tried praising him consistently throughout the day? Have you tried engaging him in conversations and looking him in the eye and focusing on him? My son's behavior always improves when I do this stuff. |
