SUBJECT: here's a new one for ya...
hi. my son is going to be two next month. he is very inquisitive. i have recently gone back to work and my husband is watching my son. we live in an apartment and leave our hamper by the door to the laundry hall. this area, as is the entire house, is carpeted. either i, or my husband, accidentally left the detergent on the floor next to the hamper. and...you guessed it., my son tipped the liquid detergent all over the floor! thankfully he didn't ingest any (we are usually very careful about that sort of thing) but now i have a HUGE stain on my carpet. but it's detergent so how do i get it out? also, i am a firm believer in keeping things out of kids reach (because they don't know any better) but how do i begin to teach him not to go near unknown objects as they may be dangerous. for instance, i love my father dearly but he refuses to child proof the house and i am constantly taking cigarette lighters, medications, and other cleaning liquids from my son's hand. i would like to know any tips that you may have.
