 | Hey Laco, I've tried a "special diet" for my son and it did seem to work. But, because I am a single dad and have my son in others hands (before and aftre school care, vacation bible school, ect...) I can't watch everything my son eats. Try elimination Mt. Dew or coke for one. Also watch his cholcolate and sugar intake. There are a bunch of foods that will cause a child to bounce off the walls that don't even have caffeine or sugars. Red 40 is another thing that will cause some kids to get so hyped up. Those juice boxes are not really 100% juice, 95% sugar and "stuff" including dyes ect..... I stopped giving my son flintstone vitamins because of the crap that is in there. We eat good enough that he really doesn't need them so why give him more that he will just pass anyways. I did just have to cave in and started a sample pack of Strattera because of certain issues. He is the youngest in his class and will be entering the 1st grade next month. He just needs a little extra help attention wise and that is all he needs to be the best he can. My son is not super hyper but is very talkative and has other signs of ADD and that is why I refused drugs to begin with. I just cant be there every minute of the day to regulate everything that is bad for him. Because of those things, this medicine will and has helped him so far. The first sign of anything bad, I'm gonna have to weigh my options and start over from there. |
