Hello

I know it has been several months since you posted and I hope all is well.

I just wanted to say, don't think twice about it. My son is three and he quite proudly tells everyone that he has a penis and mummy has a vagina. I just smile and tell him "Yes we do." Everything in society seems to be taboo these days... it's no wonder all our children are growing up to be dysfunctional wrecks! I can of course, understand that you were both embarrassed and ashamed of him touching you, and reacted without really thinking. After all - look at it from a child's point of view. Ever since the day they were born, mum/dad has washed, dressed, wiped, cleaned and powered every square inch of their body. Children have no knowledge of "private parts" because their entire body has been dotted on since they were born. Now, for mum or dad to turn around and say "Don't touch that... Don't look at that... thats naughty!!!" the poor child is left utterly confussed! He is probably wondering why you are allowed to touch his body and he isn't allowed to touch yours! (Seems pretty unfair in that light eh?)

In all honesty, he has probably seen you get soooo upset about him touching you that he is now even more entrigued than ever! He probably thinks there must be something very excitting for you to hide it like that!

However... I certainly am not recommending a "free for all" nudity party, but maybe you could let him see you naked without you running away practically screamming. Those actions will only leave your poor son feeling guilty and dirty. He has nothing to shame and neither do you.

Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill... and always remember, mystery is what keeps us curious. Take away the mystery, and he will soon lose interest.

All the best.

Shelle
