SUBJECT: To all mothers with adopted African American or biracial children
I am an African American woman and I have noticed that there is much concern about how to care for the hair and skin of children of African American heritage. Alot of people have been giving the advice to use grease on their childs head. Oil is a must but grease is not the answer. It is much more beneficial to use natural plant oils such as almond and coconut oil on your childrens hair. Anything containing mineral oils and petroleum products is a no-no. This stuff clogs the pores and impedes hair growth. Natural oils are also good for the skin.
