RINGWORM!!!!!!

I am trying to find out if there is anything else I can do...I was told after having the test done i have ringworm...They charged me 250.00 dollars at the dermatologists office my medicine was 325.00..I have no medical insurance..He told me to take it {a months supply} and that as bad as it was if it came back to call it may take 2 or 3 rounds to cure it...Well it was gone about 6 months..came back and i called then intead of calling the medicine like he said he wants me to come in to do the scrapings again and all of this is going to cost the same !!! I couldn't afford it, I have been to regular docs many times..They only give from 1 to 2 weeks supply of medicine and it gets better and comes back,,,Does anyone know why ?? Help
