 | OK, I used to work at a daycare, and I want to tell everyone in here to be SO SO SO CAREFUL about where you send your child. I'm 21 years old, I don't have kids, but I loved all those kids and hated to see what was going on. I worked in the toddler room with an old woman that made fun of one of our kids because she was heavy, and refused to pick her up or play with her. She really wouldnt pick up any of the kids, and griped at me wheneve I did, saying I was spoiling them. Another thing is that a boy in my room (when I was in 2 year old room) had a temp. of 102 degrees, i took his temp at about 10;30 that morning and immediately told the director. His mom was finally called at 2:00 that day, even though I repeatedly kept asking about her calling his mom. And he was back the next day! If a daycare has a pretty lax sick policy dont take it ! Another little boy in our daycare, named Dylan, was always ignored by his teacher, an 18 year old girl obsessed with a band called the Insane Clown Posse and who talked about sex and drugs in front of hte kids. One day his mom came to pick him up and he had dried poop on his bottom. Another thing that happened was, in that room with the weird girl, they used to prop their door open, but their outside door went into the parking lot of the strip where we were located. One of the babies walked out, and was found in front of the license branch about 100 feet away. A random person brought her back, and my boss made everyone swear not to tell. Personally this scares me to death. That little girl could have been hit by a car or kidnapped or worse. I finally quit that daycare, after I was accused of abusing a girl in our room. I quit on the spot, and whenever parents ran into me and brought up why I wasn't working there, I told them everything. Even the mom whose daughter was in the parking lot. It's about to shut down, and I'm glad. I wouldn't work in that place a bit longer, cause it was begging for a lawsuit. Please please please be careful where you put your child! I think Im fantastic w/ the kids, but not everyoen they hire is so reliable. The guy who picked the kids up from school was a 19 year old who had a dui the summer before. Daycares cover up alot of stuff. Make sure they are safe and care about your child! |
