Can Ultransound NOT show anything on 4wks pregnancies?

I took a hpt and came back positive and then like a week later I started to bleed like a normal period heavy and crampy so I went to the dr and did an ultrasound and said that there was no pregnancy or that he couldn't see any pregnancy and he did a blood test and came back positive also. Do you think that I could be pregnant and the dr couldn't see it on ultrasound? I'm going for another blood test tomorrow to see how high my hormone Hcg levels are. Does anyone experiencied this before?
I'm very worried that I just had a miscarriage and my body still has the hormone or just pray that I could still be pregnant. I've been trying to conceive since Nov 2002 and this is the first time that hpt shows two lines. Thanks for your help.
