Yes, I tried having my son clean up. I did it for 2 months and it had zero effect, he had no aversion to dealing with the poop. My doctor told me to stop because it's intensifying the power stuggle and increasing negative attention in the bathroom. At age 4 it's all about control and power stuggles, and trying to eliminate those. And I tried taking away the diapers, but my daycare lady put her foot down and said no way when he stopped using the toliet at all. Can't really blame her. They just don't get paid enough to clean up messes in underwear all day long.
