I myself have had 2 miscarrages in the past, 1 blighted ovum, and 1 with fetus. I would say do not do anything without checking your HCG levels 2 days apart and seeing if they are doubeling. And just a little advice if they are going down and you have to follow through with a D&C. statistics say that actually 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriage and the majority of them being due to a blighted ovum. However, most of us do not even realize we got pregnant, we think we are just a few days late, have a period with heavier crampuing and bleeding and never think twice about it.
The thing you need to keep reminding yourself about blighted ovums is there was never a baby. So you arent losing a child, you are only losing the thought of being pregnant. With a blighted ovum the egg and sperm join and they produce the gestational sac, yoke sac, and fluid, however the chromosones needed to produce the baby are not there so the fetus is never even made. This is also refered to as a "Chemical pregnancy".
Nothing you did to cause it and nothing you can do to prevent it. Again if this is the case just know you are not losing a baby at all, just the thought of being pregnant.
Good luck and God bless.
