SUBJECT: How much do you pay a sitter?
Hi -
I was just wondering how much I should pay a sitter for my children. I am a stay at home mom with 3 kids (6,4, and 5.5 months). I usually just trade off with my kid's friends moms when I need someone to watch my kids, but I fould a 13 year old girl to babysit. She came over today on about 1 hours notice to meet my kids and play for a little while. While she was here, I left to run some errands and came back about 1.5 hours later. The girls were thrilled with her and even the baby seemed o.k. with her ( he is a BIG mama's boy.) I asked her how much I owed her and of course she said just whatever you feel like. I paid her $8 for 1.5 hours. I kinda based it on $5/hour. I feel like this is a lot for me just to run errands by myself but at the same time they are my children and I was thrilled that they were happy and taken care of. Please let me know what you all pay a sitter, she is coming back Monday for the whole afternoon but will only have the girls. Do I pay the same amount even though the baby isn't here? HELP!!
