SUBJECT: Breakfast - 13 month old
I have been having trouble feeding my 13 month old son breakfast; he does not seem like he is really hungry.

He wakes at around 6 - I get him at 6:30 and we go have breakfast. I feed him baby cereal with 1/2 cup milk and jarred baby fruit mixed in. He also gets 1/2 cup of juice diluted with water.

The problem is he just doesn't seem like he's hungry. He used to eat all the cereal - no problem - but now I'm lucky if he finishes half the bowl. He fusses and fusses until I give him his juice - he does seem very thirsty, but I am reluctant to give him the whole 4 ozs. before he has had a reasonable amount of cereal. I have tried giving him other foods for breakfast, but so far it has been the same story.

He eats lunch and dinner very well, plus 2 snacks. Right now I am giving him a 7 oz. bottle of whole milk around 7 - 7:30 before he goes to bed.

Any suggestions? Is the large bottle before he goes to bed the problem? Should I feed him breakfast a little later instead of right away when he gets up?
