SUBJECT: My 2 year old daughter
My 2 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with an atrial septal defect, basically means she has a hole between the top two chambers of her heart. Her cardiologist wants to wait a year to see if it closes on it's own. If it doesn't it will have to be fixed. The dr said they may be able to use a catheter to fix it or open heart surgery. I am looking for someone to talk to about this. I am not sure what to expect and I am worried about what she is going to go through.

I hope to hear from someone.

Thank you, Holly
