Has he ever slept through the night? My pediatrician gave me some wonderful advice. He said, "if someone gave you a hundred dollars every time you woke up during the night, how many times would you wake up?" Perhaps what your son likes is the "reward" for waking up. He gets a drink and undivided time with you. I'm wondering if you could try to reschedule his "alone time with mommy" and then did not give him a drink in the middle of the night. Perhaps he would stop awakening himself. Just a thought. Good Luck!
