Dear Jamie-

Hang on. I went for my ultrasound and laid there in the dark and prayed as hard as I could to St. Therese. The tech said, "I have a heartbeat!" And, it was a very strong one too. I have been on bed rest for about a month and the baby is doing great. I have a very minimal subchorionic hemmorhage which is basically just an extra blood supply that is diminishing. I switched to a doctor with maternal/fetal medicine and ob/gyn residencies. You can find this out by looking into doctors at the website for American Medical Associates. Very often 6 weeks is too early to actually find the heartbeat.

The night before I went for my ultrasound I decided that if I were to lose this baby that my husband and I would have a very special angel to watch over us and for someone reason this helped to calm me.

I also checked with several people who had a D&C and they insisted that I demand a general anesthesia procedure not a local and that I have the procedure done in the hospital. While it is a simple procedure it can be painful I've heard with a local and needless to say is emotional enough.
