 | Hello! My son is 11 months old. He vomits at least 2 times a week and has been doing so, if not more, since he was born. The doctors don't think that it's the closing of his stomache/intestine. They feel that perhaps he was over fed at the time, or perhaps has a strong gag reflex and that he may have speech problems, and need therapy. I've kept food journals(for months) and can see no set pattern.No allergys.He is not dehryated or under/over fed.
I feel that he does have a strong/uncontrollable gag reflex. Once he starts to gag- it's all over- EVERYTHING in his stomache comes up!!. this IS getting better-less frequent, but is there anyone out there with a similar problem??? My sister witnessed the vomiting yesterday for the first time, and freaked out. She thought I was blowing "some spit-up" out of proportion! And is now bugging me to seek other advice.We use the same doctor's, and are very happy with the group. My baby did spend time in the NICU at birth (my ob "missed" my gestational dibiaties?), and he has a small hole in his heart and a thick heart wall that is thinning. He is going back for a heart re-check in April. Any advice? He eats- loves to eat, not to fast, not to slow. doing everything else right on schuedle. Thank you! |
