I was happy to read your response. I think mommieann forgot to mention where she got her degree in "toilet philosophy." :) I have a two year old son who seems ready to train. He is fully aware of when he is going and tells me. However, sitting on the potty and being productive is another thing! We read books, have watched videos, offered incentives, and made a game out of it. Unfortunately, he is not always cooperative and instead of making it a battle of the wills, I have laid off. It is not due to laziness or my enjoyment of spending countless money on diapers. I want potty training to be successful and not stressful. He will train when he is ready and all I can do is to keep patiently trying. I know several people who children have trained very early as well as very late at almost 3 1/2 years old. Every child is different! I wish everyone success who is at this stage because it can be frustrating. All you can do is hang in there. Mommieann is lucky to have had success early with such ease. She should realize it doesn't work that way with everyone. I would hardly call her an expert on this subject.
