SUBJECT: 17 month old hits mommy and daddy
Our 17 month old daughter has started hitting us whenever we say no or try to pick her up and she doesn't want us to. She usually laughs when she does it.She has also started hitting her playmates in the face. I have spanked her a couple of times, but it doesn't seem to deter her. The last straw was last night when she threw a toy at me and I spanked her. She then right over and got two more toys and walked right up to me with toys behind her back and then threw them at me. I don't know what discipline technique to use with her. I have recently started time-outs, but not sure if this is effective. I would prefer not to spank her. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks so much,

Tisha
