My son has a very similar schedule, and I don't think it is changeable for most toddlers - they tend to get up early, especially if it is light out. Mine sleeps later in the winter, but he currently gets up around 6-6:30AM. I figure if he goes to bed at 7-7:30PM, I can't really complain - I just have to go to bed early, too! Mine will sleep until 6:30AM, regardless of bedtime (even if it is several hours later), so putting him to bed early is really best for him. Some people I know try black-out curtains or a very late bedtime - those that I know with kids that sleep until 7:30-8AM don't put their kids to bed until 10PM or so. Mine doesn't do well on this type of a schedule, but you can try pushing the schedule back by 10-15 minutes each day for a while and see if that wakeup time gets later. I think 7AM is also ideal, but there are lots of people who have kids that get up at 5AM or earlier, so I don't think 6AM is too bad. I tend not to go into the room before 6-6:30AM so he doesn't get used to getting up earlier and earlier.

Good luck!
-Kari
