SUBJECT: Tantrums and aggressive behavior
I am a student and working mother of a daughter. She has just turned two and suddenly gained a new attitude. Instead of being her sweet self, she has started to be quite bossy. The other day we were playing and she told me to stay near the wall. I cooperated for a minute or so. Then when she walked away to play I moved from her set position near the wall to play with her. However, She began to yell and scream at me to return to the wall. She has also started to hit me when I tell her no. I never make her stand near a wall or in a corner for punishments. I wonder where this new attitude emerged from. This might be what some call the terrible twos. But she is not really terrible. Does anyone have a few ideas on how to redirect the "terrible two" tantums into a more peaceful time?
