I was diagnosed with PCOS a couple of years after my son was born. (He is now 7 years old). I started taking Metformin last September and lost 15 lbs while taking it. 2 months after starting the metformin I became pregnant after 7 years of trying! I am now 34 weeks pregnant and have had a few complications, but so far the baby (another boy) seems fine. I stopped taking the metformin when I found out I was pregnant. Complications I have had during this pregnancy include: kidney stones, polyhydramnia, and most recently incessant itching with a rash which may be "PUPP" but we are awaiting Liver enzyme tests and bile salt level tests to rule out liver dysfunction which can cause stillbirths or liver damage in the fetus. However, none of these complications have been linked to the PCOS or the use of Metformin.
