Hi I have 2 sons 11 and 13 I had a simalar problem which also started around 3rd grade it sounds as though yopu have a child with add not adhd there is a big diffrence and very easily treated go to the health food store there is a vitaman called pediactive or teen activeit changed my children alot and dont let anyone put them on ritalin . also ask your school for a 504 plan which they will never tell you about but it is there to help your child all it is is a plan which you the teachers and school counseler get to gether and see wghere he is having problem like understanding direction the teacher would hv to take extra time with them to make sure he or she understandands ( 504 PLAN ) I BELIEVE YOU CAN SEARCH THIS PLAN ONLINE
