SUBJECT: 6 and Regressing
I'm not sure anyone can help but I'm at my wits end on this one. Our son, Robbie, who will be six in July is regressing. He's never been dry at night (both his dad and I were bedwetters) and has only some what mastered day time potty training in the last year or so (he seems to average about 3 accidents a week). For the past month he not only wets his nighttime diapers but poops in them too, almost every night now. His daytime accidents have increased too! Last week I took him to the pediatrician but he came away with a clean bill of health. The doctor said just to be patient, he'll get it soon enough. His sister (almost four now) is also a late trainer and having two in diapers is just killing me. Not to mention the almost constant comments we get from everyone from family to complete strangers about this. Robbie doesn't seem to mind having wet, messy panties and doesn't even let me know when he's had an accident during the day. I've taken to diapering him when we leave the house anymore to avoid the embarrassment of having him leave a mess on someone's carpeting or furniture. And cleaning a six year old's messy diapers in the morning is just disgusting. Help... I'm beginning to think both my kids are going to be graduating high school in diapers!
