SUBJECT: Shift work and pregnancy -- please help
I work swing shift work that is difficult on anyone who isn't pregnant, but it seems even more rough now that I am. We work from 7-7 (12 hour shifts). They way our schedule runs is 4 nights/off 2.5; on 3 days/off 1.5 days; on 3 nights/off 2.5; on 4 days/off 6.5 days. My male supervisor doesn't seem feel that its a problem. He tries to compare my pregnancy to other shift working people. Which of course makes me very upset. I did explain to him that the decision to work will be left up to my doctor. I just wanted to see if anyone else out there had any advice for me.
