It is not awful to want to be tan. I am due August 5th and I feel the same way. There is no problem with you wanting to still feel normal and god forbid tan during the summer months. Just read the bottle and if it says it is safe then go right ahead. Don't worry about other people passing criticizing you on such a small thing either!! I am right there along side of you self tanning to my heart's content!! :)
