When I asked my doctor about this, he said the best thing for constipation was PRUNES. The only over the counter medication he said to take was a stool softener. BUT he said that you should only take it if nothing else worked. I have noticed that if I eat a lot of green food or fried food, I get constipated easier. Also, the prenatal pills can cause constipation too. I would double check with you OB before you take any over the counter medications. Try the prunes or prune juice and see if it helps.
