SUBJECT: HELP!!! TWO KIDS, ONE IS MINE, AND THE OTHER I WISH I COULD CONNECT WITH
A few months ago I started dating a great guy and everything is awesome with he and I, however we each have a child from a previous relationship. He has a beautiful little boy who is nine and I have an adorable three year old girl. The problems (1) they fight about everything. Is this because they resent each other or are they just being kids? (2) as much as I try I can't connect with this kid and it not his fault, he adores me and wants very much to call me mommy. Everytime he does though I feel a little afraid and scared to death that I'm going to end up hurting his feelings or shuting him out. Is something wrong with me? I want very much for this to work, also neither of their other parents are very active in their lives if at all. My new relationship with the father is progressing wonderfully and we are even speaking of marriage. I'm just afraid I won't be able to provide the emontional support that either of these children need if I can't get past this fear. HELP!!!
