Brian,
I have four children and have spanked them as needed. i see nothing wrong with a firm swat if the behavior warrants it. However, all four of the children in your home are too OLD to be spanked BARE BOTTOM. My older brother had all three of his children taken away by DCS for spanking BARE BOTTOM. In our state it is considered a form of sexual abuse on a child. My brother now has to attend a sex offenders class two days a week and pay the state $6000 for each child in restitution and was put on probation for 6 years. He is not allowed to have contact with any child under the age of 18 or he will get sent to jail. PLEASE THINK TWICE ABOUT BARE BOTTOM SPANKING. I'd rather have my children raised by me than DCS. Continue to spank, but only over clothing, save yourself and your children the heartache we are going through!
