| Wow, it is wonderful to find such a great discussion group!
I was misdiagnosed with internal hemeroids from the time I was twelve until late last year when the doctors finally realised I had Colitis. I am now 29. I was put on Asacol- first six then four tabs a day and my symptoms seemed to miraculously go away.
I easily got pregnant two months ago, and went off the Asacol on general principals. Unfortunately the Colitis started to flare and I miscarried at six weeks. The two were probably not connected.
I want to try again. Im back on the Asacol to stay but still passing some blood and mucus. Its not painful like it was in the past. Whats the point of waiting until remission when everyone seems to have flare ups in the first and last trimester anyway?
Oh, and Ive been on fish oil, as well as a fiber supplement, marshmallow tea, acidophiolus and licorice for the last month and it has helped but not completely cleared the problem. I want to know if these herbal remedies are safe if I am able to get pregnant again( I know licorice isnt), or if I should switch to chamomile tea in large doses.
Also-I am afraid that since pregnancy causes constipation (and my Colitis seems to be caused more by constapation, not diarrea) I might have real problems. |
