My son is 11 and is going through some hard times in school lately. He is in therapy and they are doing some testing to see if he possibly has aspbergers syndrome. The school district is wanting me to place him in a day treatment program to help him deal with what they think he's got (which is a narcisstic personality disorder as well as a few other things). He is very bright and imaginative but he doesn't have very good social skills. He acts very immature for his age and shows very bizarre behavior at times that one would think an 11 year would know better. He is now in special ed, but only when he can't deal with the regular class. I am looking at possibly a group therapy setting where he will be around other kids like him learning the social skills needed to get along better, but I am very confused and at times frustrated with him and the school. Any suggestions?
