SUBJECT: 5 Year Old Boys Sexual Play
My 5-Year old son had another 5-Year old boy over for a sleepover. In the morning they were playing in his room. We noticed it was very quiet and proceeded to see what they were doing. My son had his pants pulled down and was being instructed by the other boy on what to do. It appears that the boy makes my son pull his pants down and bend over. Then, he proceeds to lick my son's behind. Once we took the boy home and explained it to their parents they sort of laughed it off and said it was age appropriate. However, once we took our son home and told him he would not get in trouble over it he proceeded to tell us the details. Not only had it happened this one time they were caught, it had also happened three previous times. They proceeded to actually lick each others butt's as well as suck each other's penis's. We are very concerned about our child. However, my husband is in the Military. There is no one we could talk to confidentially about this. We are concerned that this will cause our son trouble down the road and want to prevent it. If we tell someone on the base they will need to find out who it is and start a big investigation. However, if this had happened at the child care center, everyone would know about it. We feel very bad for our son. We feel that he has been a victim here and had been violated from his innocence. He said he only did this with the boy because he was told he would not be his friend. The little boy also said it was their secret and not to tell people. We feel that curiosity is normal, but engaging in "Oral Sex" is a learned behavior and not instinct. Please let us know what you think. Our son is playing and acting normal. He has not mentioned it again as it happened two days ago. He is not withdrawn from anything. Do you think that he should get counseling over this or do you think that he will just forget about it? Thank you!
