A 4yr old child who is violent and hyper......HELP!!!!!!!!

I have a four year pld child who is very violent to my 10 month old son and who is very hyper. I recently took him to the doctor(the 4th one) who finally listened to what I was saying. He told me that he thinks my child has odd/Adhd and put him on Adderal. I feel like I have failed my child. I never raised him to be the way he is and even though my hair started to fall out from stress, over the way he acts, i feel it is my fault and have a lot of guilt. I don't know how to handle him and the medicine doesn't seem to be working. I don't want a zombie, just my little boy I know I have somewhere in there. Please help me to understand. Anything.......I'm lost!!!!
