I have 5 kids and all 5 went through a biting stage. I didnt have a problem they did. They are sweet wonderful kids but the problem needs to be owned by them. Even as young at 1 I feel strongly that kids can begin to develope bounderies and learn to live within them. Parents that make excuses for thier little dears end up with emotionally impaired kids. My advice to you is to be no nonsense. No child deserve to get a chomp taken out of them. It hurts! I worked in daycare and I really can feel for them but this is thier job. Be firm! there are a ton of proposed remedies. And I tried them all. Some worked for one child and another worked for another child. They are all in school and perfectly happy social fun children. You are your childs only advocate be firm. You really are being very reasonable I commend that! Good luck. Ps this is a great time to also teach your tot conflict and self bounderies. Teach her words like NONO biting. Or Stop now. It may not solve the problem but at least she can learn to use her words to try and prevent it. An important playground tool against bullies. GOOD LUCK!
