SUBJECT: lying and the punishment that fits
our son is 9 and we are having probs with him lying or actually just not bothering to tell us when he has broken something (accidentally) or when he has gotten into trouble at school. his grades are all a's and b's but he has been in a couple of fights at school and forgot to mention it until we received a letter from school...anyway my husband (his step-dad) has decided that grounding him to his room for a week was a good punishment...this means nothing with batteries to play with and only coming out to eat or to use the bathroom!!! i think this punishment was too much and i am wondering what you think??? please help me to help us to find a middle gound.
