3 year old angry girl

I would like any help or suggestions please. I came home today to find a letter from my daughter's daycare telling me that she has been being extremely aggressive (shoving, hitting, taking away toys)and today she stepped on another child's hand and was grinding her foot into it. The daycare has tried time outs and other disciplines but nothing seems to work. She has never exhibited this behavior before but she also doesn't have any siblings at this point for us to see and correct this behavior.
Any help would be appreciated Thank You
