Dear Jen,

I have the exact same symptoms as you described. In my case, very little hair is growing in the white areas also. I went to a dermatologist and found out that I had alopecia. It is a skin condition where your hair roots produce too much mucin and it actually kills the hair follicles. I have the white spots on my legs, my stomach and my arms. It went away for a while the first year that I had it, but once it came back its been here to stay. I don't go laying out in the sun at all anymore because I end up looking really funny and splotchy. There's really nothing to be done about it as far as I know. I'm not sure if you have the same condition, but if so, I hope this helps some.
