We had a lazy cat who would come for walks with us -- and ride in my son's stroller. Nick loved the cat...but he loved it the way infants love kitties. He'd pat that poor cat on the head (as the cat sunk lower and lower) and just howl with delight. Until the cat had enough and got out and walked. Being lazy, though, he'd jump right back in. Nick would hug'n'pat'n'crow with laughter. The cat would get out and walk. In, out, in, out. With me laughing all the while -- and Nick delighted with himself because he just KNEW he was the cause of all the fun! |
