There're things you don't expect your kids to do, things you never expect to say! I'll bet you know just what I mean! And drSpock.com would love to hear YOUR stories!

...I never thought I'd tell anyone in the world "Please don't lick the shoes!" We were shopping for party shoes for my 8 year old daughter -- patent leather. My son, who was two, loved the shine...

He had no idea WHY they were so shiny...so while Jen was industriously trying on every shiny pair of shoes the store had, Nick was licking the toes of the non-shiny shoes...to see if he could get them to shine, too!
