I just took my son into the doctor a few weeks ago with a red rash all over his face, trunk, and arms. He had the previous week had a stomach virus as it sounds like your son did. The doctor told me that in children under 5, they often will develop a rash in conjunction with the stomach virus (I had no idea that would happen) He said the rash would last for about 3 days and to avoid other small children while the rash remained. Maybe the same for your son?
