SUBJECT: Anti-E
Hello everyone. I am from Alberta, Canada. I was wondering if anyone reading this can help me by telling me exactly what Anti-E is in your blood. I was told by my doctor that this Anti-E can harm my unborn child. They Canadian Blood Services sent my doctor a letter saying this Anti-E is linked to Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn. When I looked up this disease it said it happens in mothers with a negative RH and their baby has a positive RH. I'm confused. I have a Positive RH and my husband has a negative which should do anything to the baby. My doctor said this Anti-E could acted up against my baby thinking it is a virus and then my blood would start killing off my child. Can anyone help me understand? Can this really happen? I'm horrified! I have a daughter who is almost 5 and this child I'm carrying will be my first with my husband. The doctor also said that this Anti-E will stay in my system forever and any further children I may miscarry or the child may be still-born. Please can anyone help me at all about this. Thanks Leah
PS I am getting my ultrasound on April 22nd to see exactly how far long I am. I can't wait!
